SP-109 - 16oz "Kaki-Kyoku" Extreme Slub 45th Anniversary Selvedge Denim - Type II Jacket

$ 375.00

The Studio D’Artisan SP-109 reimagines the classic Type II denim jacket through the lens of traditional Japanese dyeing. Cut from a sturdy 15 oz selvedge denim and dyed with kakishibu - a natural dye extracted from fermented persimmon tannins - the jacket carries a deep, earthy tone in multiple layers that will darken and evolve beautifully with wear and sun exposure. Expect the fabric to patina and shift in color in a way that’s entirely unique to the wearer. Details stay true to mid-century workwear: pleated front panels, dual chest pockets with flaps, side waist adjusters, special sashiko stitched selvedge ID, and SDA’s meticulous construction throughout. Made in Japan, this piece blends rugged heritage style with centuries-old dyeing tradition.

Fit Notes: Studio has a really trim fit in general, but the type II's are always built a little boxier. Tommy is wearing a size 42 in this piece, only because the chest measurements are so big. It allows him to get the boxy fit he wants without having extra long arms. We recommend sticking with your typical Japanese size in this. Tommy is 5'10," 165lbs with a 40" chest.
