James Dant x Dehen - Flyer's Club Jacket - Auburn, Kodiak

When something gets in our heads, it tends to stick. We've been trying to produce a waxed dark red jacket for years...but it always seems that the fabric isn't available. Well, Dehen went to bat for us and snagged this gorgeous auburn-colored canvas from their distributors. It is as amazing in person as it looks in the pictures. Our favorite kind of waxed garment is one in which you get major shifts in color from highs to lows in the marbling created by the wax. There is a huge difference between a garment with that look and one without, and if you've ever seen it in person you know exactly what we're talking about. It's a game-changer. The flyer's club jacket is a highly stylized bomber jacket with a mouton color made from the same fuzzy good stuff you get from the N-1. This is for someone who likes to layer and doesn't need the full warmth of its predecessor. It's got glorious, hardy ribbing at the base and the cuffs with super smooth satin lining. They've made this jacket exclusively for us, and we couldn't be more proud of how it turned out. 

Taking cues from various military flight jackets of yore, such as the MA-1 and B-15, Dehen has created the perfect Flyer's Club Jacket.  The impetus to create this garment was one part homage to the late Bill Dehen's service in WWII and one part determination to use their resources responsibly.  They found that our iconic N-1 Deck jacket would leave portions of shearling too large to waste, but with no place to call home.  Made from the highest quality materials and great attention to detail, this baby is an heirloom quality garment meant to last you a lifetime...or more.

A variance of +/-.5" is within tolerance. 

Fit Notes: Our first impression is that Dehen fits with a more American cut (i.e. larger). We've been proven wrong with the past few pieces though. We would say this brand has one of the truest fits on the market. Tommy is wearing a large in the pictures. He found that this larger than usual size fit his style with a straighter leg pant. You should have no problem buying your true size in this piece though. The lighter-weight liner allows for more room in the body than the N-1, so the measurements don't need to be taken with that heavy pile factored in. Tommy is 5'10," 165lbs with a 40" chest.
