05100-3x3IDT - Twill Bio-Wash Vest - Indigo

Take that classic coverall jacket we talked about in the last few pieces and turn it into a vest. In previous iterations, you've seen the classic heavyweight selvedge fabric from the brand known for just that. But, Oishi-san has been expanding his horizons this year and has given us this incredible 3x3 Indigo twill that is reminiscent of sashiko. That would have been enough, but they've given it this gorgeous bio-wash to bring out the true nature of the dye. The 3x3 in the title references the three twill threads pulled together to create the fabric. What makes this fabric so unique is that all three threads are different, creating an incredibly fluffy texture. That, combined with ONI's skill at producing low-tension fabric creates a lightweight, easy-wearing, everyday jacket that just about anyone can add to their wardrobe.

Fit Notes: Shop owner Tommy is wearing a size 42 in this jacket. In order to fit the roomier look of the pants, he wanted a size larger than he normally wears. As you can see, this baby is cut small. It fits the way this type of vest is supposed to. We would recommend sizing up at least once from what you normally wear from non-Japanese brands. Tommy is 5'10," 165lbs, with a 40" chest.
