1129-5 - 14oz Sulfur Dye Heavy Oxford Work Pants - Olive Drab

This has been quite a long time coming. We've been dancing around Full Count for many years and finally cleared up some space to bring them in. Full Count is a Japanese denim brand that kicked off in 1992, founded by Mikiharu Tsujita. They're all about using Zimbabwean cotton, which is hand-picked and has super long, strong fibers. Full Count was one of the original "Osaka 5" denim brands, helping to fuel the Japanese denim craze in the late '80s and early '90s. This now makes 4/5 for us! Fun fact: the name comes from baseball—when the batter’s got three balls and two strikes, that's a "full count."

These were number one on the list when we saw the Fall catalogs. This hardy 14oz fabric creates the kind of drape we love to see from work pants. The wider fit helps with that bell shape too. They've included a cinch back from the 1930's, but other than that they're a pretty no-frills pant. When you see the fabric up close, you can tell where they've pulled the inspiration — military tents. The canvas is perfectly sulphur-dyed which we find accomplishes two things. It fills them with a gorgeous, fadeable color and simultaneously softens the pants to make them more wearable. If you look closely, these pants look like they've been hit with a heavy rinse. We dig this fabric so much, that we snagged it in the tops and bottoms. Clearly, the world did too, but these are hard to find in stock anywhere on the internet.

Fit Notes: Shop owner Tommy is wearing a size 34 in this 1129 Fit. It's a super wide straight fit with almost a bell shape through he outseam. These are another one where it's really only important to get the waist right. The rest will fall in line. We recommend sizing up to the next fit if you're in between two sizes, or buying your true size if you're not. These fit a bit more true than some of their 5 pocket fits. Tommy is 5'10," 165lbs, with a 32-33" waist.
