S101AX-SAKURA - 18oz "Ai-Plus-Sakura" Jean Jacket - Type I

The S101AX-SAKURA “Ai-Plus-Sakura” Jean Jacket from Samurai is a masterpiece of contrast and craft - blending two traditional Japanese dyeing techniques into one extraordinary fabric. Woven from an 18oz selvedge denim, the yarns are dyed first with natural indigo (ai-zome) and then overdyed with a cherry blossom–inspired sakura dye. The result is a deep, blue-violet hue with a subtle pinkish cast that changes under light and wear, revealing complex tones over time.

The jacket itself takes cues from the classic Type I design, refined with Samurai’s signature modern precision. You’ll find iron-made custom buttons, selvedge construction throughout, and that unmistakable heavyweight texture that softens beautifully with age. Fit Notes: Being that this is a Type I jacket, which is generally built to be a smaller silhouette, Tommy sized up to a 42 or XL in this piece. We highly recommend sizing up at least once. You can see the chest is quite generous, but the rest of the jacket fits short, as a type I always does. Tommy is 5'10," 162lbs with a 40" chest.
