TNK103KH - 14.5oz "KAKISHIBU" Selvedge Indigo x Persimmon - Loose Straight

According to Tanuki, this denim has been heavily requested for years. By now, you've seen many variations of Kakishibu selvedge and it's almost always darker in nature - something closer to brown. Well, Kakishibu dyeing is an ancient natural dyeing process that uses the persimmon fruit to get its color. Persimmons are orange, not brown; you can clearly see that shade in this heavily saturated denim. We've been addicted to this dye since it came into our lives seven years ago. It adds a perfect warm base which makes for beautiful fading. We love that you can see the orange cast poking through the weave of the twill. And it looks even better when you flip the cuff. The slubby denim combined with this special dye is finished off with their signature Tanuki blue details making what we see as a contender for "pair of the year."

Fit Notes: Shop owner Tommy is wearing a size 34 in the pictures. The loose taper has plenty of room throughout so it's all about getting the waist right. This waist is just a bit smaller than the high taper, so keep that in mind. We recommend sizing up at least once from what you normally wear. Tommy is 5'10," 162lbs with a 33-34" waist depending on the rise. 

The Tanuki Loose Straight cut features a high rise, relaxed top block, and a full, straight leg for a roomy vintage-inspired silhouette.
