TNK402KH - 14.5oz "KAKISHIBU" Selvedge Indigo x Persimmon - Type II Jacket

In their very own contemporary reimagining of the Type II jacket, they've created a version that features an elongated body, sleeker arms, and functional side pockets. According to Tanuki, this denim has been heavily requested for years. By now, you've seen many variations of Kakishibu selvedge and it's almost always darker in nature - something closer to brown. Well, Kakishibu dyeing is an ancient natural dyeing process that uses the persimmon fruit to get its color. Persimmons are orange, not brown; you can clearly see that shade in this heavily saturated denim. We've been addicted to this dye since it came into our lives seven years ago. It adds a perfect warm base which makes for beautiful fading. We love that you can see the orange cast poking through the weave of the twill. And it looks even better when you flip the cuff. The slubby denim combined with this special dye is finished off with their signature Tanuki blue details making what we see as a contender for "jacket of the year."

Fit Notes: Shop owner Tommy is wearing a size 42 in the pictures. These are fitting a bit more true to what we're used to seeing in a Type II. He has been wearing a large from most brands and that correlates to how these fit. We would recommend you size up one from what you normally wear, or buy your standard size if you know Tanuki. Tommy is 5'10," 162lbs with a 40" chest.
