To enhance wearability, the pattern has been reimagined with wider armholes, slightly enlarged shoulders, and a roomier body. The yoke and pocket positions have also been adjusted for a more comfortable fit. Inspired by the vintage "T-back" design—originally reserved for the largest sizes—the body is crafted from two pieces of fabric seamlessly wrapped together at the center, paying homage to the original while offering a versatile modern update. This blend of heritage and innovation makes it an enduring addition to any wardrobe.

Fit Notes: This jacket fit the way you would expect a Type I to fit. Fromt he chest measurements, you can see even with a boxier cut it is still trim. We're treating the 40 as a small. Tommy is wearing a 42 in the pictures which was nice in the chest with that 22.65" measurement, but it still fits like it's supposed to everywhere else. These are supposed to sit at the waist as a classic t-bac spec type I. Youc an see, even in this shorter length, they pair really well with a baggier pant. Tommy is 5'10,' 165lbs with a 40" chest. His North American size is M and his Japanese size is L.
