SIS25-102 - Overdyed Zip Up Hoody - Kakishibu Indigo

This zip-up hoodie takes the same deeply considered fabric as the pullover version and adds a more functional, layered-ready build. The 14.5oz fabric is knit from 30-count open-end, air-spun yarn, giving it a dry, firm hand with natural structure and resilience. Rope-dyed indigo yarns are then overdyed with kakishibu, a traditional persimmon tannin dye used in Japanese clothing since the Heian period, resulting in layered color that deepens and evolves with wear. Samurai carries the same yarn through the ribbing, finishes the garment on a 4-needle flat seamer, and adjusts the cutting blade so the kakishibu tone subtly shows through at the seams. Finished with a YKK zipper, kangaroo pockets, and a kakishibu-dyed flat drawstring at the hood, this is a hoodie that feels historically rooted, technically obsessive, and built to age beautifully.

Fit Notes: Tommy is wearing a size Large in this piece. It's a bit more of a traditional Samurai cut, but has a bit more room than the crew neck variation. We would still recommend sizing up if you're looking for a more comfortable fit in this piece, but it's not necessary if you like it slim. Tommy is 5'9," 165lbs with a 42" chest.
