The BN Crew Neck is built around one of the more demanding fabrics in the Jackman lineup, a dry cotton blend sourced from the USA and Australia and spun into nep yarn through a process that's harder to execute than it looks. Neps are created by adjusting the carding machine during fiber preparation, intentionally leaving small knots and irregularities in the yarn that give the finished fabric its natural, rustic surface. Because nep yarn is inherently weaker than standard yarn, Jackman weaves it on a rapier loom, an older, slower machine traditionally used for delicate fibers like silk, capable of handling the yarn without breaking it. The result is a fabric with genuine character and a surface that improves with time.

The cut is a voluminous, loose-fitting pullover with classic raglan lines and a mid-height neck that keeps its shape over time. A V-gusset at the neck adds elasticity for easy on and off, seam pockets sit on both sides, and the sweat-style detailing gives it an ease that works across a lot of situations.

Fit Notes: Shop owner Tommy is wearing a large by rule from Jackman. He likes the roomier fit and it accounts for shrinkage. This one, he would likely buy in a large as it has a boxier cut to account for a fabric with less natural stretch. You could buy your true size in this one. Tommy is 5'9," 165lbs with a 40" chest.
