LRC1116 - Big Herringbone Pile Knit 50s Cardigan - Heather Grey

Loop & Weft’s LRC1116 brings the softness of a knit to a rugged, heritage-inspired silhouette. Based on 1950s sportswear cardigans, this piece is made from a custom-developed “Big Herringbone” pile knit that combines a bold, dimensional texture with a lightweight, breathable feel. The knit is produced on vintage loopwheel machines in Wakayama using thick No. 14 cotton yarn, giving the fabric a plush hand and a visible diagonal pattern that evolves beautifully with wear. The fit is gently relaxed with dropped shoulders, a wide placket with four cat’s-eye buttons, and a curved ribbed hem at the back. A single angled patch pocket adds subtle utility. Finished with meticulous double-needle stitching and binder rib trim around the collar and front, this is Loop & Weft’s idea of the perfect spring-to-fall cardigan - low-key in shape, rich in texture, and crafted with obsessive attention to detail.

A variance of +/-.5" is within tolerance. 

Fit Notes: Tommy decided to size up to an XL in everything this round. His normal size from Japanese brands is L, so this was just one size up for him. This brand is notorious for fitting very small, so pay close attention to those size charts. We recommend sizing up bare minimum once and twice if you like a roomier cut.  Tommy is 5'10," 165lbs, with a 40" chest.
