Aurora Light Down Utility Jacket - Khaki

We've been looking for an outerwear brand specializing in down for quite some time. When we stumbled upon Nanga on our last visit to Japan, we couldn't help but to wonder if one day they would make it to the States. To our surprise, they were at the very next show we attended. The product is as good in person as it looks online! Their colors are out of this world with a lot of the garments having an almost translucent effect. It's what visually drew us to the brand from the start. 

Nanga took everything that made the original Aurora Light series a fan favorite and rebuilt it with a more classical, streamlined feel. The stand-collar design drops the hood entirely for a cleaner silhouette, lighter overall weight, and easier pairing with layers. The jacket uses Nanga’s proprietary 15dn Aurora Light fabric—a waterproof, breathable, ultralight shell that’s long been trusted in their sleeping bags—with a recycled 10dn nylon lining that efficiently transfers body heat into the down. Inside is 180g of premium SPDX Polish goose down at 860FP, wrapped in a box-quilt structure inspired by Nanga’s sleeping bag construction for maximum warmth retention. Even though the shell is extremely thin, the performance is off the charts, with over 20,000mm water resistance and outstanding moisture permeability. This is the refined, wearable version of their flagship down—clean, warm, lightweight, and built for serious cold without the bulk.

Fit Notes: Tommy is wearing a Japanese L in this piece. He originally tried on an XL as he remembered these fitting a bit small during buying season, but it turns out the Parka styles fit pretty true to size. We would recommend snagging your true size in this one.  Tommy is 5'9," 162lbs with a 40" chest.
