PER-EX-019-BK - 15oz Black x Kakishibu Selvedge Jeans - Relaxed Tapered

A vivid reinterpretation of black denim, the PER-EX-019-BK pairs Pure Blue Japan’s slub-heavy “Extra Slub” selvedge with a persimmon-dyed weft for a textured, earthy contrast beneath a deep black surface. Woven at low tension on vintage shuttle looms, the fabric clocks in at a crisp 15oz and delivers PBJ’s trademark neppy hand and irregular slub character. The weft is naturally dyed using fermented persimmon tannins, giving the jeans a warm, orange-brown undertone that slowly emerges with wear. Cut in PBJ’s relaxed tapered fit, the silhouette offers a higher rise and room in the top block with a sharp taper from knee to hem for a modern profile. Finished with all the expected PBJ detailing - from hidden back pocket rivets to tonal leaf embroidery - this is a deeply expressive pair that rewards long-term wear with evolving depth and contrast. These were a super rare snag for us that almost didn't make it to the shop. We had to scrap for them, and we are incredibly glad we did because they are truly, truly special.

A variance of +/-.5 is within tolerance. 

Fit Notes: Shop owner Tommy popped up to a 34 in these. That tends to be his standard starting point from PBJ. These, being a slimmer cut fit just right in the waist even with the relaxed top block. We recommend sizing up at least once in these, and maybe even twice if the waist measurements read small for you. Tommy is 5'10,' 165lbs with a 33-34" waist.
