SLB-019 - 16.5oz Slubby Selvedge Denim - Relax Tapered Fit

Pure Blue Japan is one of those brands we've danced around for years and continually questioned why we had yet to carry. Well, the wait is over as we've finally done something we should have done long ago. This brand is known worldwide for its attention to detail and heavily textured selvedge. This is achieved by using low-tension weaves that create not only textured but hairy loomstate denim. Their lineup is always good and always small batch meaning you only get a shot at a few new pieces each season. 

Due to mad production delays in Japan, it's been so hard to get our hands on the lovely denim of PBJ. This round, they've recreated their iconic slub denim in a new heavier, slubbier selvedge. We've seen a lot of denim in our days, and this one stopped us in our tracks. It's one of those textures you can see from across the room. They've really tweaked and cranked the looms to a level where they're pushing the selvedge out slowly, and at a super low tension. It creates a bumpy uneven surface that gets the hair on the back of our necks standing up. Luckily, they've given this unsanforized, loomstate selvedge a nice rinse to get rid of most of the shrinkage. It keeps the denim crunchy, and full of life while taking the edge off. We've been waiting for this for over a year and it was worth the wait just to have this brand on our shelves again. That being said, it's not just any denim. This is a special updated version that anyone should be proud to fade.

A variance of +/-.5 is within tolerance. 

Fit Notes: Shop owner Tommy popped up to a 34 in these. With these being a relaxed taper, he knew he was going to need more room in the leg. While the waist is a bit roomy, it's nothing a belt wounding fix as these fit a bit lower don't the hip. These have a roomier top block with a strong taper from the knee.  Tommy is 5'10,' 165lbs with a 33-34" waist.
