Loop & Weft was a brand that came across our radar a few years ago. Amongst the hustle and bustle of running the business, it fell through the cracks which is honestly madness. The uniqueness of their knits immediately blew us away, and let us know that this brand was meant for the shop. The brand was founded in 2011 by Ryota Seguchi in Yamanashi, Japan. It's a knitwear brand renowned for its commitment to craftsmanship, quality, and comfort. Drawing on Seguchi’s experience in the Japanese denim industry, the brand was created to offer knitwear that embodies timeless design and unparalleled softness. Loop & Weft’s production process involves the use of vintage knitting machines, including rare Tompkins models, which create one-of-a-kind textures and ensure exceptional durability. With a focus on sustainable and slow production methods, the brand collaborates with skilled Japanese artisans to produce heirloom-quality garments. The Old Sinker Sweat series revives the spirit of the discontinued Tompkins Sweat through expert craftsmanship and innovation. Created in a Wakayama hosiery factory using 1970s Japanese-made sinker knitting machines, this fabric retains the unique fluffiness of the original Tompkins while offering enhanced stability and reduced shrinkage and twisting. The evolved brushed fleece has a soft, vintage-inspired texture that improves with wear, delivering exceptional warmth and comfort. Featuring four-needle flat seams, a binder crew neck, double v-inserts, and thick ribbed details, the sweatshirt blends classic aesthetics with modern durability. The regular-fit silhouette ensures a comfortable balance for layering or standalone wear, making this series a thoughtful reimagining of a timeless staple.

A variance of +/-.5" is within tolerance. 

Fit Notes: Tommy is wearing a size L(40) in this sweatshirt. As you can see from the charts, this brand fits a little smaller than others. These are particularly small, so. we recommend starting with one size up from your normal, then taking even one more size up. The 40 was pretty trim on Tommy. He is 5'10," 165lbs, with a 40" chest.
