The D1908S “Bengala” Natural Dye Selvedge Denim embodies Studio D’Artisan’s signature blend of craftsmanship and experimentation. This 14oz Japanese selvedge denim is dyed using Bengala - a natural pigment derived from iron oxide, historically used in Japan for centuries to create deep reddish-brown hues and preserve fabrics from wear. The result is a warm, earthy tone with incredible depth that will evolve uniquely over time.

Cut in a relaxed tapered fit, the D1908S provides room through the top block and thigh with a clean, modern taper below the knee. Classic Studio D’Artisan details shine throughout: custom hardware, hidden back pocket rivets, raised belt loops, and chainstitched hems. Made entirely in Japan, it’s a celebration of traditional dyeing techniques meeting functional everyday wear.

Fit Notes: These fit like a traditional pair of Studio D'artisan, which is smaller than most brands. Tommy is wearing a 34, which is his normal size. They fit with that standard, slim silhouette that the relaxed tapered fit is known for (with a little more room in the seat). Buy the size you want based on the leg opening. We always recommend going up a bit and wearing a belt so the taper doesn't look ridiculous. Tommy is 5'10," 162lbs with a 33-34" waist.
