SD-801S - 15oz Selvedge Jeans Regular Straight - Natural Indigo O/W

This all started as a reimagining of the inaugural masterpiece, the "DO-1," introduced by STUDIO D'ARTISAN in 1979—an intentional journey back to the brand's origins. With a steadfast commitment to authenticity, STUDIO D'ARTISAN embarked on an intensive exploration of their original denim fabric, meticulously recreating the unique 6-count yarn composition with an exact match in terms of twist and irregularity, an endeavor that commenced right from the spinning process. This pair is essentially the same pair without the cinch back and the fit is slightly different (even though they're both called the regular straight)

This revived denim canvas is skillfully woven utilizing the Awa Tokushima Hank-dyeing Natural Indigo yarn, infusing each thread with the essence of craftsmanship and tradition. The methodical dyeing and drying ritual were performed a remarkable 20 times, a testament to the dedication invested in this process. The result is an exquisite dark indigo hue that exudes a depth achieved only through time-honored patience.

Natural Indigo has been the holy grail for denim lovers all over the world, and it almost never comes at this price (in fact this is about half the price we normally see Tokushima Hank-dyed fabrics.)

A variance of +/-.5" is within tolerance. 

Fit Notes: This roomier fit seems to be coming more in line with what we're used to in the waist. Tommy would have been able to fit into a 33 in these, but went with a 34 because that is his rule of thumb with Studio. He always starts there, and usually is either solid or needs one more size up. This regular straight is specing a bit larger in the waste. We still recommend sizing up once, but you could potentially get away with your true size if the measurements line up. Tommy is 5'10," 165lbs with a 33-34" waist.
