Wonder Looper’s Double Heavyweight French Terry continues to blow our minds every season, and the pullover version might be the cleanest expression of the fabric yet. Knit in Wakayama on slow, low-gauge circular machines, this 876gsm monster has a dense, rugged weight with huge spongey loops on the interior. It feels like a garment built by hand rather than by industry. The crewneck silhouette leans into vintage athleticwear with a ribbed binder collar and inlaid V gusset, paired with raglan sleeves, ribbed side panels, cuffs, and hem that keep the fit balanced despite the fabric’s heft. Every seam is flatlocked for comfort. It is unmistakably Wonder Looper, taking a classic shape and rebuilding it with obsessive detail and a fabric that simply should not exist at this weight. Plus, there are these gorgeous new seasonal colors to add a little flair to the core colors from seasons past.

Fit Notes: Shop owner Tommy is wearing a size large. This is considered an athletic fit which reads to us as a roomier, more American cut. We rarely see Japanese brands with that sort of cut, but the Wonder Looper owners built this brand with specifically that in mind. The large fit with plenty of extra room in the chest, hem, and arms. The set-in sleeves also help to give a perfect fit in the shoulders in almost any size. The crew neck fits a little slimmer, so the large was a welcome size choice. Tommy is our standard fit model at 5'9," 165lbs with a 40" chest. His typical North American size is medium and Japanese size is large.
