The ELS Recycled Cotton Slub T-Shirt takes the idea of a heavyweight tee and pushes it into much more interesting territory through the yarn itself. The fabric starts with a blend of three different cotton sources. The first is recycled cotton gathered during the yarn spinning process, the lightest and airiest fibers normally discarded during production. The second comes from recycled offcuts of their Double Heavyweight T-shirt program, reclaiming fabric waste and giving it a second life in a new knit. The final component is Extra Long Staple organic cotton, added for strength and a smoother hand that balances the irregular texture created by the recycled fibers.

Once the yarn is spun, the fabric is knit slowly and at low tension, allowing the fibers to retain their natural loft and movement. The result is a dense 280 GSM jersey that feels soft and springy in hand while showing subtle slub character throughout the surface. It has the weight of a substantial tee but the kind of softness that usually only appears after years of wear.

Construction follows the same thoughtful approach. A binder neck rib reinforces the collar, while flat side seams sewn on vintage Union Special machines keep the interior smooth and durable. The athletic modern silhouette sits clean through the chest and shoulders without feeling restrictive. Knit from Japanese fabric and sewn in Japan.

A variance of +/-.5" is within tolerance. 

Fit Notes: Shop owner Tommy is wearing a size large this round. That's his standard Wonder Looper size, which is what we recommend you stick with. These are a bit more forgiving than the heavier weight options, so if you like a classic fit, you can likely stick with your true size. Plus, they've got that rinse wash that should help protect against further shrinkage. Tommy is our standard fit model at 5'9" 165lbs with a 41" chest.
