Pullover Crewneck - Double Heavyweight French Terry Foxfibre® - Coyote 80

It’s been almost a year since we last released these, and the first run vanished immediately. They’re finally back for round two - heavier, richer, and just as unreal as we remembered.

Wonder Looper has always chased one thing: to create the heaviest circular knits in the world. The Foxfibre® Double Heavyweight French Terry - Coyote 80 represents the pinnacle of that pursuit. We’re talking 825gsm (24.3oz per square yard), one of the densest knits on the planet. And yet, it’s surprisingly wearable. It hangs and drapes like a three-pound wool sweater but stays soft, breathable, and never itchy.

The fabric itself is a technical marvel. Knit in Wakayama, Japan, on low-gauge (10G) circular knitting machines, it develops an irregular surface with thick, soft loops on the inside - a texture you can see and feel. The French terry is so substantial that the vertical knit lines appear almost corded, giving it incredible depth and structure.

What makes this version even more special is the Foxfibre® cotton. The deep brown tone of “Coyote 80” isn’t dyed at all - it grows that way naturally. Cultivated on a single-origin organic farm in New Mexico, Foxfibre® eliminates the need for synthetic dyeing entirely. Over time, the shade darkens and gains character, developing a rich patina that’s completely unique to the wearer. The Coyote 80 blend combines 80% Foxfibre® with 20% organically grown extra-long staple cotton, boosting both softness and strength.

Each pullover is finished with the same thoughtful details that define Wonder Looper: a ribbed binder collar with a vintage inlaid V gusset, raglan sleeves, ribbed side panels, cuffs, and hem for comfort and shape, and flat-seam construction throughout. Every piece is made start to finish in Japan, where craftsmanship and precision take center stage.

A variance of +/-.5" is within tolerance. 

Fit Notes: Shop owner Tommy is wearing a size large. This is considered an athletic fit which reads to us as a roomier, more American cut. We rarely see Japanese brands with that sort of cut, but the Wonder Looper owners built this brand with specifically that in mind. The large fit with plenty of extra room in the chest, hem, and arms. The set-in sleeves also help to give a perfect fit in the shoulders in almost any size. The crew neck fits a little slimmer, so the large was a welcome size choice. Tommy is our standard fit model at 5'10," 165lbs with a 40" chest. His typical North American size is medium and Japanese size is large.
