15oz Skein Dyed WWII Slubby Black x Gray Selvedge - Type I Denim Jacket

The Graphzero 15oz Skein Dyed Slubby Black x Grey Selvedge Type I Jacket draws its design from the 1940s War Model first type, the denim jacket stripped down to its essentials under wartime material restrictions: four front buttons, no pocket flaps, and action pleats at the chest that were there to make hard physical work easier. It's a silhouette that's had a serious resurgence in recent years, and this is one of the best executions of it we've seen. The fabric is the same extraordinary cloth as the jeans: a 15oz selvedge denim woven on an old-fashioned power loom, unsanforized and unsinged (but one washed), with black and grey skein dyed warp threads woven randomly and a grey slub weft that creates that cascading, waterfall-like surface character that photographs one way and wears another. As the skein dye fades it does so softly and irregularly, developing transitions and contrast that rope dyeing simply cannot produce. Original iron and copper engraved buttons, hidden rivets, cotton constructional thread, and a hand-crafted extra thick tanned cowhide leather patch engraved with "THE ONE AND ONLY TEXTILE" and "JAPAN PRIDE" close out a jacket built to the same obsessive standard as everything else Graph Zero produces.

A variance of +/-.5" is within tolerance. 

Fit Notes: Shop owner Tommy is wearing an 44 in the images. This is slim like many of the other jackets. Tommy couldn't have gone any smaller than the 44 in this piece. While the chest on all of these jackets seem roomy, the other measurements remain small. We recommend buying one to two sizes larger than you normally wear. He would likely buy a 46 in this piece.  Tommy is 5'9," 165lbs, with a 41" chest.
