1914W - 17oz "Amami Mud-Dyed" Dark Brown Sashiko Jeans - Regular Straight

The Studio D'Artisan 1914W Amami Mud-Dyed Sashiko Jeans are built from a 17oz Bushu sashiko fabric woven on old shuttle looms traditionally used in Japanese martial arts uniforms, one of the heaviest and most structurally dense cloths in the SDA lineup. The dyeing process is what makes this a limited series worth paying close attention to. Each pair is dyed on the island of Amami Oshima using dorozome, a mud-dyeing technique over 1,300 years old that combines vegetable tannins with iron-rich mud drawn from the island's unique soil. The result is an earthy dark brown that carries a slightly powdery hand on the surface from the dye process itself, a texture that will soften and develop its own patina with wear. The structured feel of the fabric at this weight promises a long, rewarding break-in. Natural corozo nut button fly, copper rivets, raised belt loops, chain stitched hem, and a custom embossed SDA leather patch complete a pair that anchors any outfit with real presence.

Fit Notes: These have that standard Regular Straight cut we love from Studio, so Tommy is wearing his standard size of 34. We recommend buying your normal Studio size if you know it and go up once if you don't. Tommy is 5'9," 165lbs with a 33-34" waist.
