The ONI 200 “Asphalt” is one of the brand’s heaviest and most textured fabrics, coming in at a rugged 20oz weight. True to its name, the denim has a deeply irregular surface, with heavy slub and nep that creates a look reminiscent of rough asphalt. Despite its weight, the fabric is woven at low tension, giving it surprising comfort and flexibility once broken in. The fades are dramatic and high-contrast, enhanced by the slubby weave and surface irregularities that Oni Denim is known for.

Finished with Oni’s signature detailing, the 200 Asphalt features an embossed leather Oni-yaki patch, original hardware, copper punched rivets with hidden back pocket reinforcements, and the brand’s classic flasher. The Oni 200 is a wide straight fit with a higher rise, generous room in the top block and thigh, and a true straight leg with no taper from knee to hem. The silhouette wears spacious and balanced, finishing with a wide hem that pairs naturally with heavyweight, textured fabrics like Asphalt. For this one, if you get the waist right, everything else should fall in line. With a weight this heavy, the roomier the better in our opinion. Tommy is 5'10," 162lbs, with a 33-34" waist and would likely buy the 34 in these.
