2059 - Nubuck Harrington Jacket - Black

The Harrington is the template most modern blouson jackets are working from, and in Japan it has gone by a name of its own for decades: the Swing Top. The pattern dates to the late 1930s in England (different than the other type of skinhead, don't come at me), found its way onto film and television through the postwar years, and was adopted by mods and later by skinheads in Britain, which is where it picked up most of its cultural weight. Full Count keeps the shape and changes the material entirely. This one is built from nubuck cowhide, sanded on the grain side rather than the flesh side, which raises a fine velvety nap while keeping the strength and the tight surface of full-grain leather underneath. It handles far more like a refined jacket than a rugged one.

Ribbed knit cuffs and hem do the work they always have on this pattern, closing the jacket at the edges and keeping weather out, and the body is lined in plain cupro, a regenerated cellulose fabric that slides easily over a shirt and breathes better than most linings. The buttons and zippers were developed with A Leather, the Osaka leather house, so the hardware is specified to the same standard as the hide it sits on. Made in Japan.

Fit Notes: Shop owner Tommy is wearing a size 42 in this piece. This one has a more modern, short cut so the 42 was the right call for him. If you wear a 40 in their chore coats you would wear a 42 in this. If you wear a 42 in the denim jackets, you would wear a 42 in this jacket. We recommends sizing up once if you're between sizes.
