8204 - "Ishikawadai" T-shirt - Charcoal Black

The Studio D'Artisan Ishikawadai Tee is built from a fabric produced on a Japanese ring-spinning machine made in 1953 by Ishikawa Seisakujo, believed to be the oldest of its kind still in operation anywhere in the world. Running at roughly one-third the speed of a modern ring-spinning machine, it exerts minimal stress on the cotton fibers, allowing the natural qualities of the yarn to come through in a way that faster production simply cannot preserve. The result is a fabric with a naturally uneven, almost hand-spun texture that gives the tee an authentic, antique-like character built directly into the cloth rather than applied after the fact. The production process throughout pays homage to the vintage tees of 1953, with traditional low-tech techniques at every stage.

Fit Notes: Studio D'artisan t-shirts always have a smaller fit than anyone is expecting, but not this one. The size large in this one fits extremely well. He almost always feels that the large is tight on him, but this honestly these were quite boxy for the first time. He loved the fit of the L, but could've worn the M for a more traditional fit. Tommy is 5'9," 165lbs with a 41" chest.
