BILLI-002 - Billiken Collaboration Satin Sukajan Souvenir Jacket - Black x Green

The Studio Sukajan is a staple at this point. Each year we get a new design, new colors, and a new story. These are very much a souvenir jacket in reference and in that, there's always a new variation. They're unique like every Souvenir Jacket was. They pop up, they disappear, and people are left waiting for the next one. D'Artisans reversible Sukajan is a work of extraordinarily individual and intricate embroideries on both sides of the jacket. 

They've thrown two unique variations at us this year, one of them being a collaboration with Osaka's symbolic deity Billiken-san. First introduced in 1912, the iconic symbol is meant to represent "things as they ought to be." The front of the jacket displays a "NEW WORLD" tourism design, with Billiken-san as the focal point, depicting the vibrant streets of Osaka and its renowned delicacies like takoyaki and kushikatsu. The back features a detailed OSAKA MAP, highlighting beloved city symbols such as Billiken, manzai comedy, and the spirited obachan (aunties). We think it's the best variation we've seen in years, mostly because it reminds us of all the shrines we visited in Japan. The entire country is filled with symbols of good luck and prosperity which help you feel connected to the culture. Imagine getting to have that feeling every time you wear this jacket.

A variance of +/-.5" is within tolerance. 

Fit Notes: Most of our Japanese brands are considered to have a smaller fit than American brands. In this piece, Tommy is wearing a size 44 in pictures. In terms of length, this is the better fit overall than wearing a 42. The raglan-style sleeve allows for a bit more wiggle room. With a tucked-in tee and higher-waisted denim, you could probably wear your true size. But, for comfort's sake, you may want to size up once. That's what we choose to do. Tommy is 5'10," 165lbs with a 40" chest.
