CC03.192 - Sturdy Ribbed Cotton Sweater - Chocolate

Merz b. Schwanen has been knitting in the Swabian hills since 1911, and the details on this pullover come straight out of that history. Triangle inserts sit under each arm, a gusset carried over from how early undershirts were built, adding fabric exactly where the sleeve needs room to lift and taking strain off the seam. Raglan sleeves work toward the same end, running the shoulder into one uninterrupted line. The rib is what updates the classic here, deep columns of knit and purl that give the surface texture and let the knit stretch and recover as you move. The organic cotton knit feels soft and satisfying right away and stays breathable, which makes it the piece you reach for lounging on a cool summer evening and keeps it in rotation once the weather turns. The crew neck is opened up slightly for an easier line across the collarbones, and a swan loop label sits on the front.

Fit Notes: Tommy is wearing an L in this piece. All the heavier sweaters seemed to be fitting better in his standard size. Usually he takes and XL from the brand, so we would recommend sizing down once from what you normally wear in the tees. If you don't know your Merz size, use the charts or go for your standard size in this one. He is 5'9," 160lbs, with a 41" chest.
