D1929 - 12oz "Fox Cotton" Denim Painters Pants - Wide Straight

The soft green running through this denim never came from a dye vat. It grew that way. Sally Fox began cultivating naturally colored cotton on her California farm in the 1980s, reviving strains whose ancestry reaches back more than 5,000 years, and the work earned her the title "mother of organic cotton." Her Foxfibre® cotton comes off the plant in muted greens and browns, so it skips the heavy dyeing conventional white cotton goes through and grows free of genetic modification. Studio D'Artisan has returned to Fox Cotton again and again over the years, and for the D1929 it runs a natural green Fox Cotton weft against an indigo-dyed warp, weaving the two into a 12oz Japanese denim with a quiet, organic cast that shifts slightly from one pair to the next. Each strand of the fiber holds fine pockets of air, which is why the cloth feels light in the hand while still holding warmth, dries quickly, breathes easily, and naturally resists UV rays. It wears soft from day one and stands up to plenty of wear after that. Cut on a painter pant pattern, the D1929 sits in a wide straight silhouette with a tool pocket along the right leg, fastens with an embossed metal button opening, and carries an SDA woven label at the waistband.

A variance of +/-.5" is within tolerance. 

Fit Notes: These are one of the wider cuts we've seen from Studio D'artisan, so they were quite comfortable all the way around in the size 34. As you'll notice, the waist is still quite small even in comparison to other Japanese brands. For this reason, we always recommend sizing up at least once in this brand. Tommy is 5'9," 160lbs with a 33-34" waist.
