D5745 - 12oz "Kasane No Irome" Ai-Shibu Work Shirt - Indigo x Kakishibu

Kakishibu is pressed from unripe persimmons and fermented into a dye that refuses to sit still. Exposed to sunlight and air, it keeps deepening long after it leaves the bath, building a patina that tracks how and where the garment is worn. On this work shirt, Studio D'Artisan lays that persimmon dye over a foundation of deep indigo blue, the pairing behind the name Ai-Shibu, and applies it to a 12oz Japanese natural slub denim for a tonal richness that reads earthy and rustic from the first wear. The combination belongs to the brand's latest series, built around Kasane No Irome, the classical Japanese sensibility that finds meaning in the relationship between layered colors rather than in any single shade. Here the indigo and the persimmon seem to trade places as the light changes, and the slub texture gives both plenty of surface to catch. Dyeing the shirt after it is sewn lets the color pool along its seams, pocket edges, and gussets. Workstyle chest pockets and side gussets give it a utilitarian backbone, and tagua nut buttons run down the front.
