D5745 - 12oz "Kasane No Irome" Kuro-Beni Work Shirt - Black x Bengara

Catch this work shirt in the right light and a warm red starts to surface through the black. That red is Bengara, an iron oxide pigment with a long history in Japanese craft, laid down first as a foundation before Studio D'Artisan dyes the finished shirt black over the top. The approach comes from Kasane No Irome, a classical Japanese way of seeing color in which beauty lives in how hues rest on one another, with depth, season, and feeling read through their interaction. Studio D'Artisan built its latest denim series around that idea, and on this 12oz Japanese denim the result is a deeply subdued dark tone with far more going on beneath the surface than first meets the eye. Bengara holds onto its color stubbornly, resisting fading and change, so that red undertone will keep working its way through as the shirt ages and picks up the marks of wear. Because the dye goes on after the shirt is sewn, it collects along the seams, pocket edges, and gussets, tracing the construction in color. Workstyle chest pockets and side gussets keep the build grounded in utility, and tagua nut buttons close the front.
