The Iron Heart Oiled A2 Deck Jacket takes one of the brand’s most faithful military reproductions and gives it a serious upgrade in both function and feel. Built from their signature 12oz whipcord, this version is treated with a double layer of oiling that increases the weight to roughly 14oz while dramatically boosting water resistance. For this latest run, Iron Heart refined the process by removing fluorine-based chemicals entirely - replacing them with a fluorine-free, eco-conscious oil coating that achieves the same level of repellency with a more natural waxed hand. The result is a heavier, denser version of the A2 with a subtle sheen, built to break in beautifully while keeping the elements out.

Lined throughout with a thick 100% wool body and sleeves, the jacket delivers the kind of heat retention you’d expect from Iron Heart’s cold-weather pieces. The wool yarn is dyed in Nagoya and woven in Osaka on vintage shuttle looms for a fluffy, blanket-like texture that traps warmth while staying smooth against the skin. Classic naval detailing rounds it all out - hidden storm cuffs, a two-way zipper with button placket, a single chest pocket, and adjustable waist cinches. Every inch is overbuilt, from the poly-cotton thread to the internal felled seams, ensuring this one lives up to its heritage roots while pushing forward in durability and sustainability.

Fit Notes: Tommy is wearing an L in this piece. He generally wears this size in their jackets and XLs in all the shirting. This one sticks to that standard. It has a roomier cut, as a jacket should, which allows him to wear a size closer to his "normal size." We would still recommend sizing up once if you are in between sizes. Tommy is 5'10," 162lbs with a 40" chest.
