The slow, tensionless knitting preserves the cotton yarn's inherent softness and produces a fabric that is denser, more elastic, and richer in texture than high-speed alternatives, developing further character with every wear. The neckline here is a jacquard knit vintage collar, knitted one at a time on a specialized machine to replicate the collar construction of 1960s undershirts, with wide ribbed cuffs completing the period-correct detail work. The body is sewn on a Union Special four-needle flatseam machine using all-cotton thread throughout, a construction spec that is genuinely incompatible with modern mass production methods.
