MSP-1034 - Chino Trousers - Khaki

Pigment behaves differently from dye. Dye bonds into the fiber and colors it through, while pigment sits on the surface held in place by a binder, so it rubs away wherever the cloth creases or catches. Maru Sankaku Peke uses that to its advantage here, coating a base cloth with pigment in a second color and then running the finished trouser through used processing. What comes out has depth that a single flat color cannot produce, with the top color worn back in places to let the base show through, and the khaki reads dimensional rather than uniform. That process is the brand's whole approach, which it carries out with Japanese artisans on every piece it makes, chasing clothing that makes the heart leap rather than clothing meant for dressing up. The trouser runs with a slight taper toward the hem, enough to keep the line clean through the bottom of the leg, and the buttons are nut rather than plastic.

These fit very similarly in the waist to their Boro work pant silhouette, with just a slightly more tapered and tailored look through the leg. Tommy is 5'9," 160lbs with a 33-34" waist.
