Officer Shirt - Olive Felton Wool

Alpaca is built differently from sheep's wool. The fiber is hollow at the core, which traps air and returns more warmth for the same weight, and it carries almost no lanolin, so it sits smooth against the skin instead of prickly. Peru's Andean highlands supply most of the world's alpaca, and Peru is where the Officer Shirt's custom fabric begins. Alpaca and wool yarns are knit into panels first, then felted under high heat until the fibers lock together permanently into a single dense sheet of cloth that holds real warmth and stays comfortable against the body. Felting also changes what the fabric can do. It has no grain to ravel along, so the raw seams need no finishing at all, and the inside of this shirt ends up nearly as clean as the outside. Those same panels are cut and sewn in Peru with fine needlework, which keeps the whole process in one place from fiber to finished shirt. Dual chest pockets handle the front, and a crossed back yoke shapes the shoulders.

Fit Notes: Shop owner Tommy is wearing a medium in the Officer Shirt. This jacket fits much roomier like most of the shirting does in the latest collections. We would recommend sticking with your true size. Tommy is 5'9," 160lbs with a 41" chest.
