R5192 - Merino Cotton Bandana Scarf - Navy Blue

$ 220.00

Half merino, half cotton, and the two halves pull in opposite directions in the best way. Merino brings the crimp, and crimp is what gives a knit its spring: each fiber coils along its length, so the yarn compresses under your hand and pushes right back, holding warm air in the bargain. Cotton brings the smoothness and the breathability, keeping the surface easy against the neck and the scarf wearable on a 50-degree afternoon rather than only in deep winter. Together they produce a hand that is difficult to convey in words, soft and full and bouncy, the kind of fabric you keep running through your fingers while you are wearing it. Rototo knits the bandana motif directly into the cloth rather than printing it on, so the small repeating figures and the dotted borders are built from the yarn itself, but the faces read differently, allowing you to wear this multiple ways. It also creates completixty and layering in the way the scarf happens to fall in that particular moment. At 65 inches long and 16.5 inches wide, there is enough of it to wrap twice and still have length to spare, or to leave hanging open over a jacket.
