S0150BRX - 15oz "Kanoko Brown" Denim - Regular Straight

The Samurai S0150BRX Kanoko Brown Denim draws its name from the Japanese word for fawn, a reference to the dappled spotted pattern of a young deer, an animal revered in Japan for centuries as a sacred messenger of the gods. The fabric story behind it is just as compelling: brown denim has a brief but fascinating history rooted in a moment of wartime material shortage in the early 19th century, when logwood dye temporarily replaced scarce indigo in military garments, producing a brown-colored denim that largely disappeared from production not long after. Samurai revives that tradition here using Suren dye, a colorfast dye with vintage military roots that fades differently from indigo, softening gradually into warmer tones within the same brown family rather than bleaching to high contrast. The 100% Texas cotton slub yarn is woven into a rugged 15oz selvedge with natural nep texture throughout, and the Shogyo Mujyo jacquard pocket bags, iron pine tree buttons, and copper coin-shaped rivets carry the same depth of symbolism that runs through everything Samurai produces. Fit Notes: Tommy is wearing a 34 in these. They were a really wonderful fit in the leg with just enough room to wear a belt in the waist. We would recommend sticking with your true Samurai size on these. Tommy is 5'9,' 165lbs with a 33-34" waist.
