S3000XX15oz-SH - 15oz "Seigaiha" Selvedge Denim - Wide Straight

The Samurai S3000XX15oz-SH Seigaiha Selvedge Jeans take their name from one of Japan's most ancient design motifs, the overlapping wave pattern that spreads gently and endlessly across a surface. The reference is structural rather than decorative. The fabric is built from two fundamentally different yarns, a No. 5 count rope-dyed indigo warp with deliberately strong unevenness built into it, producing the slub character and deeply saturated blue that defines the face of the cloth, and a finer No. 8 count weft dyed through a separate process to a distinctly deeper indigo concentration. Woven slowly on vintage looms, the contrast between the thick uneven warp and the finer darker weft creates immediate visual complexity. As the two yarns fade at different rates over years of wear, the deeper weft indigo gradually asserts itself and pushes through, producing an increasingly unusual and personal surface that only emerges through sustained hard use. The red-painted Hinomaru top button, representing the sun reflecting off a calm sea, ties the entire concept together with exactly the kind of considered detail that defines Samurai at their best.

Fit Notes: Tommy is wearing a 34 in these. They were a really wonderful fit in the leg with tons of extra room for movement. The waist was a little smaller because of the higher rise, but we would recommend sticking with your true Samurai size on these. Tommy is 5'9,' 165lbs with a 33-34" waist.
