S310XX-WASHI - 15oz "Washi" Selvedge Denim - Wide

The Samurai S310XX Washi Jeans bring together two of Japan's most storied textile traditions in a single piece of cloth. The weft is spun from washi paper, the handmade Japanese paper produced from the inner bark of mulberry and mitsumata plants that has been made for over a thousand years and used for calligraphy, shoji screens, bookbinding, and art. Samurai spins that historic paper into yarn and weaves it into the weft of a 15oz selvedge alongside a cotton warp made from extra-long staple fibers with a soft, silk-like hand. The resulting fabric sits at the heavier end of midweight with a beautifully textured surface that carries the character of both materials. Custom hinode iron buttons, hidden rivets, a selvedge-cut coin pocket, silver and gold lamé selvedge ID, cowhide leather patch, and jacquard woven Shogyo Mujo pocket bags complete a jean built on the widest silhouette in the Samurai lineup.
