Shiramayu Heavy T-Shirt - Natural

Tanuki’s Shiramayu Heavy Natural T-Shirt is built around a 10 oz jersey that feels closer to a light sweatshirt than a conventional tee. Spun from a coarse count 8 yarn, the fabric has real substance and a dry, structured hand. Instead of bleaching or dyeing, the fabric is only soap-washed to remove machine oils, leaving the cotton largely untouched. That minimal processing preserves natural neps and cotton flecks that are normally stripped out during bleaching, especially for light or ivory bases. The result is a fabric that feels raw, honest, and durable, with visible character baked in from the start. “Shiramayu,” meaning white cocoon, speaks directly to that intent, an unprocessed, undyed fabric that stays close to the cotton’s original state while reducing chemical use and fiber damage.

Fit Notes: Shop owner Tommy is wearing a size large in the pictures. He tried on the medium, and it was just a bit too tight. The large was an absolutely perfect fit. It had a bit of room in the chest and the sleeves were just the right length. We recommend sizing up once to get the full effect of the wider and slightly longer silhouette. Tommy is 5'9," 165lbs with a 40" chest.
