SP-107 - 16oz "Ai-Kyoku" Extreme Slub 45th Anniversary Selvedge Denim - Type II Jacket

The Studio D’Artisan SP-108S Ai-Kyoku Slub Selvedge celebrates the brand’s 45th anniversary with a distinctive 16oz selvedge denim. Crafted using the traditional kasezome dyeing method, the yarns are repeatedly dipped in natural indigo, creating a deep, multi-dimensional color that will fade beautifully over time. The denim is woven with No. 6 slub and nep yarns in the warp and No. 5 super slub yarns in the weft, resulting in an intensely textured fabric with irregular fading potential. Designed in a classic Type II, this fabric really shines in such an iconic silhouette. Signature details include a button placket with Studio D’Artisan’s original buttons, engraved copper rivets, selvedge detailing at the placket and neckline, and 45th-anniversary print pocket bags. An original cowhide leather patch commemorates this special release with a gorgeous Japanese design. With wear, these should turn into true beauties. And the best part about this denim has to be the price. Generally, naturally dyed indigo runs nearly twice this price.

Fit Notes: Studio has a really trim fit in general, but the type II's are always built a little boxier. Tommy is wearing a size 42 in this piece, only because the chest measurements are so big. It allows him to get the boxy fit he wants without having extra long arms. We recommend sticking with your typical Japanese size in this. Tommy is 5'10," 165lbs with a 40" chest.
